We are proud of our impact and continue to work hard to achieve our goal of improving sanitation and hygiene for 100 million consumers by 2025.

At the UN 2023 Water Conference, stakeholders gathered in New York for the first UN 2023 Water Conference in 46 years to accelerate #wateraction! 💧💦 At the conference, LIXIL's leaders joined global governments, civil society, and other stakeholders in identifying strategies to ensure access, availability, and management of safe water and sanitation.

Here are 3 key takeaways from the deliberations:

-Meeting global water and safe sanitation goals requires collective action that leverages the strengths of the public and private sectors. Learn more about our collaborations with the public sector through LIXIL Public Partners and SATO here: https://sato.lixil.com/

TradeUp to a Plumbing Career

Plumbers play a vital role in community health and prosperity by ensuring access to clean water and sanitation. Yet, the plumbing field is experiencing a significant decline, posing a threat to societal well-being. To counter this, the American Standard TradeUp program combines education with essential resources for both teachers and students, fostering strong community connections and nurturing the future generation of plumbing professionals. The initiative has already trained over 1,000 students and plumbers through its partnership with more than 40 educational facilities. With the aim of increasing this number to over 2,000 by 2024 with the help of key customers, the program is making significant strides in reinforcing the infrastructure critical for maintaining clean and healthy living conditions.

LIXIL Supports Diversity & Inclusion in the Trades with Tools and Tiaras

LIXIL is proud to return as a partner and host for Tools and Tiaras Inc. their 2023 summer camp. This year we hosted the girls for a plumbing workshop at our Americas headquarters in Piscataway, NJ.
At the workshop, the girls got to take part in a water audit, reviewing their daily water use and learning different ways to conserve this precious resource. Later in the day the girls were split into three groups, where they partnered with Alison Lyons, Lydia Swedberg and Kye Kang from our Global Design team to develop their own style of faucet. They also got to hear from our very own Jin Montesano, who encouraged them to find their passion and pursue a career that they love.
LIXIL has been a partner of Tools & Tiaras for six years, and we're proud to support them in their journey to bring much-needed attention to the plumbing shortage and the need for diversity & inclusion in the trades. We’re excited about giving the next generation of talent their first taste of hands-on design, engineering and plumbing experience. Our partnership with Tools & Tiaras is a key part of our Trade Up program, an effort dedicated to raising awareness of the skills gap and taking action to inspire more people to pursue plumbing as a viable career path.
We look forward to working with Judaline Cassidy and the team every year, and we can't wait to host our next workshop in August. Together, we can change the narrative and prove the Tools & Tiaras motto true - that jobs don't have genders!

Backing People and Passions to Drive Innovation

“During the harvest season, I spend weekends picking apples with my children, and making and labeling the juice. It’s the kind of life I always wanted.”

Yuki Munakata used to live a short distance from Tokyo in Japan’s busy Saitama Prefecture, but applied to move north to Nagano Prefecture and become an area employee – an employment concept in Japan that enables employees to stay within the region they live in. After transferring, Munakata was given permission to work from her new home, balancing her countryside lifestyle with her job at LIXIL. As a result, she was also able to fulfil her dream of raising her children surrounded by nature.
